This week, while I was indulging in a movie made in 1999. This movie was called Blade. It’s about a Day walking vampire fighting vampires and it so 1990s to early 2000 coded that I couldn’t step away from its reminiscent aura.
Sparking this charged memory of times back then. The sights I seen, the sounds. My parents and the movies they used to watch. They would pop their popcorn or make their meal just to prepare to watch a good movie. Movies meant love, they meant family, sitting and eating together. Essential moments in shared history that we all hold dear to our hearts.

Movie posters give that cool in the know vibe. The confident era. These older movies always had a way too cool feel to them. Each character was in their own way feeling them selves. This set the tone in so many ways for us. We wanted to be will smith in The Fresh Prince, or Micheal J Fox in ‘Back to the Future’. This isn’t a real movie in this picture, but I wanted to capture that driving down the freeway top down, 10,000 dollars in my pocket type of feel. Raw, ruddy and full of life.

You want real posters of real movies to spark up those home memories in your space. Think, your mother’s favorite movie. Your favorite singer and some PlayStation 2 video games. Frame these sacred memories. Hold them with your dear life. Who knows, they may be worth something one day.

You know you always wanted a Star Wars room and you couldn’t because back then all this stuff didn’t exist. They try so hard to keep recreating all the luster and amazingness of the first Star Wars movies. Star Wars signified high level technology and space exploration at a time where we were just starting to lean towards a more technological way of being. Winning 7 academy awards, this movie sent us right into the future one Jedi Knight at a time.

All this theme rooming got me thinking about all the little ways to put some spunk into your personal design. These tufted rugs are a colorful add to drab wabisabis and continuous minimalistic designs. What you do with your space will give you warmth. You need balance. You need a tufted happy faced rug.

So what you are 30 and a financial advisor for a fortune 500 company. You wanna toy, get you a toy. You want lights and whirs and wizes. You wanna gumball between rigorous trainings and diets. In touch with your inner child. In touch with the colorful fun loving side gives wholesomeness to a space. Hoping for a family one day. Or giving your children a touch of eye to eye. Is it their toy or yours, only God knows.

Feeling kind of lonely in this world. There is a friend for you. A happy little robot. I’m slowly gaining a feeling of acceptance for our AI companions. They are made for us. They talk, help us with plans, have a sense of humor. Next thing you know they’re going to be cooking us dinner and taking care of our babies. There is just a huge wonder of how far are we going to take this? What will we do for the smoothest sleekest most efficient robot ever. This little desk robot seems like it for now but just wait. Something is evolving and we are just around to see it.

Back to our beloved crystal spiritual era. I remember being small and looking at the moon and assuming a witch lived on it stirring potions and waiting for the right time to fly around on her broom. All things magic, Harry Potter, That’s so Raven and Twilight come to mind. I remember the pure crystals of my Nana’s crafts and all their rainbows. Her mother of pearls and jewels. At that time, these things were more fascinating than ever, phones weren’t a kids favorite item back then. It was the sky, it was gems, it was toys.

These pictures are not my art work and were found on Pinterest and also made with AI. There used to be a stigma in my mind when it came to ai made things. Sometime it looks ridiculous to me yet this marks the turning point right here. Imagining something like this is top tier programing. Only a true artist could think of such art work with these materials. AI art can be complex and knowing keywords is important. If you know you know.

Fascinating bugs are beatles. True jewels of nature. As a child, the ground was my happy place. Finding worms and bugs were complete treats. I was wanting nail polishes in this color. I dreamed of finding such insects that I would see on national geographic. Anything but a boring old black Beatle.
Back in the day, the simplicity was golden and we didn’t even see it. There is a looming feeling of missing the old days and wanting to be a part of that time again. Hence Significant Pastimes is a shared background of existence. These experiences that shaped us to be who we are today. Maybe it was by elite design or maybe we just gravitated around these themes and felt welcomed by their umbrella of viewpoints. Either or, the way we move forward can be by honoring the past and enjoying our era as a whole. Be in touch with it. It’s apart of you. In times when you feel lonely, there’s a Star wars group waiting for you. A pick up game of basketball. Or a movie theater packed waiting to see the next Marvel creation.
